When — and why it matters here
Late fall (before snow) and spring (after seed drop) are the money windows in Utah. Fall is the one you don’t want to miss: gutters that go into winter packed with leaves hold water against the roofline through every freeze-thaw cycle, and that’s how small clogs turn into fascia, foundation, and ice problems. Spring clears out what the cottonwoods and a winter of storms left behind.
While we’re up there, we’re also looking — loose hangers, separated seams, downspouts that don’t drain where they should. You get told about anything we find while it’s still a cheap fix, and photos of the finished result either way, so you never have to take our word for it from the ground.

What a proper clean-out involves
Scooping the visible debris out of a gutter is the easy half. The half that matters is the downspout, because a gutter that is clear along its length and blocked at the outlet still overflows in the first real storm.
- Every foot cleared. Not just the reachable runs and the front of the house.
- Downspouts flushed until they run free. That is the test, not a look down the opening.
- Debris hauled away. It does not end up in a pile behind the garage.
- Photo proof. Nobody should have to climb a ladder to check the work they paid for.
What blocked gutters actually cost
Water that cannot get to the downspout goes over the edge instead — behind fascia, down walls, and into the ground right against the foundation, which is the one place you least want it. In a Utah winter a full gutter also freezes, and the weight of ice in a loaded gutter is what pulls hangers out of the fascia.
